The D-Day in my Dad's story!

Tonight was that much awaited day for me and my family....The release of my Dad's second book 'An Autumn in Japan'.

Based on his travel experience during his one month visit to Japan, a meticulous and determined Dad, finally made that Book come Live!

And yes, tonight was the release of his book by the Whiteline Journal publications.
The Woman's Era magazine also offered him to be a regular column writer for them which added to his happiness!

Your determination, hardwork and integrity towards pursuing your most favourite hobby so earnestly, makes me so proud of you Dad!

Mom and Dad, thanks for being such wonderful and inspirational parents. I am so proud to be your daughter!

Love you loads!

Changeling- A movie worth watching

A single woman's struggle to get back her only son who was exchanged for another because of the irresponsible and intimidating nature of the Los Angeles Police then, this movie is based on a true story that took place in the year 1928.With classic dialogues and an outstanding performance by Angelina Jolie, this movie undoubtedly fits my list of a must watch:)

My Birthday in the year 2009!

Well I have to write about my Birthday celebration this year coz this Bday had been a blast!

The bday celebration started yesterday with my cousin sis nd bro-in law visiting me with a cake and we all having dinner together in a restaurant..By the time I was home it was already 11.30 PM. And as the clock struck 12 I heard my door bell ring..Wel 0 points for guessing! The 'gang' ofcourse was waiting at the door with the Bday Cake lit with candles! Kamata Honcho, the name of our building, has this tradition of celebrating Bday's at midnite. And the universal rule is applied here too...The Birthday girl/boy is put in a situation where she/he prays it was not their bday;) But yea those are wonderful moments and after my face was fully covered with brown chocolate cream I was subject to photo shoots!! So that ends the night in the best possible way!

Goodmorning!! Wish u a very Happy BirthDay!! Blessings from my Parents followed by messages and calls from my friends greet my Birthday Morning!! I get up early, and after bathing offer prayers to God! The day passes with receiving greetings and wishes! I feel glad that every year the bday comes ...atleast on this one day, under this pretext, u get to speak to so many people together!

For dinner I treat my friends to a Mexican restaurant-El Toritos. After a delicious meal wen we are relaxing and chatting(almost 15 of us) suddenly out of nowhere we hear jingling bells, loud and noisy Bday music... a roar of Happy Birthday greetings, a cake and sparklers coming our way!! And the restaurant staff stop right in front of me and drop a Huge Mexican hat on my head! It represents their style of Bday celebration in their restaurant! Some Kodak clicks happen and before I am out of this surprise I am flanked with loads of lovely gifts one after the other by my friends!! It was an overwhelming moment!Simply touching!

To be miles away from family but yet be able to fill the void is to be called Blessed! I am thankful to God that even this Bday was as beautiful as any other and always pray it remains the same in future!

Thanks to all people who made it so wonderful for me:)

True treasure of Life!

I dedicate this poem to a dear friend of mine whom I could have lost forever for my insensibility. But thanks to time and our destiny, today, realization of the right dawned and I proudly bask again in the happiness of that friendship...
Dear friend, I promise to be friends forever!

Moments in my life,
I failed to live right,
By hurling trivial strife’s,
Today opens my doors for insight.

I pray I could erase...but alas! Time doesn’t re-surface...

Bitter is the taste,
A horrendous disgrace,
The idea for a break,
Of that relation I so embrace.

I pray I could erase...but alas! Time doesn’t re-surface...

I cry, I try,
Swear not to retire,
Until my soul tires,
To revert what I destroyed.

I pray I could erase...but alas! Time doesn’t re-surface...

And then I hear
A tiny little voice,
I couldn't mistake,
For it’s my conscience...

I see hope, only little remorse...I pray more...for it all to restore...

It tells me,
"Dear...Love is a gem, a beautiful jewel,
God wants in every heart to dwell!
And that you yourself tear it apart,
Makes you the most cruel sinner of all.

Love while u Live
And Live to Love!
For you are the one blessed,
Amongst those countless unfortunate ones"...

I elate, while I conceive,
Those golden words, I believe,
Should turn my disgrace,
To a better, brighter retrace.

So today I redress...and promise to caress...my dearest and closest...for now I trust...

'That eternal bliss lies in divine selflessness!!'

Now I smile, and I sing,
Thank God once and again,
For making this miracle happen,
That got me back my dear friend again!

My Wish

Wrote this poem when I was 12 yrs old(7th std:))And it undoubtedly looks a juvenile creation...

The new born leaf,
Of a mango tree,
Look so green,
Given by the nature free;

The little lad,
Is so glad,
Sitting on his mother's lap,
Laughing over a loud clap;

The cold wind,
With a Nature of different kind,
Do not mind,
Even if a cyclone land;

But I don't want to be,
The new born leaf,
Neither the cold wind,
Nor the little lad;

But want to fly,
Up in the sky,
With the wings of mine,
And with the happiest smile!

A cold winter morning!

I woke up this morning to realize how cold and chilly it was outside...To sleep cozily inside my warm blanket was what my mind insisted me to do...but my heart, on the other hand, wanted me to reach out and enjoy the freshness of the morning dew, to feel the drizzles on my face, to embrace the mist and cuddle warmly inside my cozy warm sweater while the soft breeze brushed my face as I enjoyed the beauty outside from my balcony.

A hot cup of tea would indeed add to the glory! So off I went into my kitchen and set the tea pot on fire....I added a spoon of tea powder into the boiling water, and it’s the aroma that greets u which is the best part I like..I spend at least a few seconds enjoying the aroma of boiling tea powder!! Wow, what a pleasant fresh feel it gives...And finally as my tea is ready I walk out into my balcony and take a hot sip!! Just then I hear a little bird resting on a nearby tree chirp...a soft breeze blow and I have the best time of my day!!

Nothing could be a better way to start a wonderful day and I write this on one such beautiful day that reminds me how beautiful Life is!!

We want no Firefighters, coz there should not be a Fire at the first place!

Recently saw a mail that is being circulated on internet titled “Instructions by Mumbai Police". The mail lists down a number of Do's and Don’ts for the general public to follow in case there is another terror attack. Highly appreciate the loud step taken by our Mumbai police to cure another terror attack (God forbid which never happens). But again, I am left with a very cynical question on seeing that mail; do they really expect another Terror attack to happen??
Such kind of slump demeanors by our Administration, our system, leaves the common man asking again and again, is there no end to this impotency??

What we need today is an assurance that there will not, and cannot be another such disaster on our nation. That is how an advanced and responsible government should function. Are we so feeble compared to a developed nation? Is it that we lack the potential or resources to overcome such hurdles? Of course the answer is no! If the government could invest 940 crore solely for the modernization of the Mumbai Police, I cannot accept that we are short monetarily! We pay our taxes well on time to defend that. But yes, If the same government fails to monitor how the 940 crore is used, I can bet that we are left with complete disappointment on the absolute impotency by the government.
In a recent article by TOI, I read how the 940 crore was used to build numerous police buildings and to buy luxury cars and accessories for top officials when the money was meant to be used for upgrading weapons and ammunition and improving mobility.

Where is our nation heading to?? It’s depressing and frustrating to see so many innocent lives left to be ruined in the hands of such so called "protectors”! We don’t need any fire fighters, what we need is an assurance that there will be no more fire!!
Will India ever, ever become a self sufficient, safe and developed nation? Though my hopes had risen a little at the public revolt soon after the attack, it is diminishing day by day as I see the flare dampening!! We can achieve nothing with folded hands; We have to be the change we want to see. Let the flame never die. Let us keep the fight going until we achieve what we rightly deserve!!

Hiee:)

The overnight mission of scaling Mt Fuji, the toppling tumbling experiences of skiing, the holy feeling of the shrines, the charm of spending lonely hours with my sketchbook and so many more of my experiences that I always wanted to share...I wondered how and where… And here I get my answer… I start to Blog!

I name it…Silent Voice! Hmmm... but Silent Voice here does not represent my personality which many would wrongly interpret. It’s just the little voice I silently want to be heard :)

So with hopes to have some fun here and not bore my readers much, I get going into this new venture...
Adios!

Song of my Mother

This was the first poem that I wrote. I was 10 yrs old then. But even today it is my favorite. I dedicate this poem to the best, most wonderful mother in this world, my mother:). This is how it goes...

The beautiful song of the birds,
Captures the heart of mine,
And I sink in their song,
When I have a heavy heart.

The cold wind blows,
Down to my heart,
And I give up my temper,
When I have a heavy heart.

But the most I like,
Is the song of my Mother,
Which soothes my heart,
When I have a heavy heart.

A Strong Soul

During those lonely hours in a hostel room, when a tender mind is swarmed with many an unanswered questions, nature manifests its healing touch and the thoughts of a fragile mind becomes the words of this poem...

In times of sorrows,
And in moments of agony,
All I crave for,
Is a caress from my loved ones.

Pity thy a person,
The unluckiest one,
For want of caress,
There is no loved one around.

Away far away,
In a world unknown, uncherished,
Where life could be no less than a hell,
Only a strong soul could dwell.

But I am not a strong soul,
Nor can ever dream to be,
Away from the ones,
I always longed to be with.

Then why this torture?
Why this pain?
Why this isolation?
From a world of joy and happiness!

In such a despair,
One night I glared,
Into the vast blue sky,
Adorned with twinkling stars!

I was mesmerized,
My eyes were craving,
For that quest, that unanswered reply,
That were hidden in those beautiful stars.

They were away, far away,
Away in a world of their own,
Isolated, alone, uncared!
But they appeared delirious each time!

They reappeared each night, subtle and silent.
Just to beautify the already beautiful sky.
And in such a deed of goodness,
Enhanced their beauty each time!

That was the reply to my quest,
Which illuminated the inner landscape in me,
For each star depicted,
A soul that God created!

Each person is alone,
And relations are just a support,
Coz finally in the long run,
One must find his own road!!

Time

Time got me golden memories,
Of honest,innocent demeanours,
Of lessons unleashed of a lifetime,
To be vaulted forever and ever.

Time took me past those unseen moments,
When I deplored all the torments,
Besieged by my anxieties,
Savaged,sans,destitute.

Today time takes me,guides me,
Enslaving not just me but every mortal & immortal,
For the better or the worse,
In fine tune with its composition.

Yet I call time my best friend,
Albeit all the hard times or the happy ones,
Coz time and only time I find,
As my ultimate soul healer..!!
